This e-book is a collaboration between artist Alice Fox and poet / composer Nigel Morgan.
The images and texts follow artist and poet as they visit, observe and explore a number of coastal locations across the UK: East Anglia, East and North Yorkshire, the West Coast of Scotland.
Taken from her many sketchbooks Alice’s images in pen and ink, pastel, charcoal and collaged photographs capture her very special perspective on the sea, the land and the sky. These elemental things have been at the heart of her 2014 Arts Council supported Tide Marks touring exhibition and publication.
Nigel’s poetry is shot through with the Chinese tradition of composing poetry of simplicity about the individual’s experience of the natural world. It is a distinctive writing about things we see and touch rather than the abstractions of personal feelings and emotions.
Within Sight of the Sea follows previous collaborations Fifteen Images in 2009 and Gifts from the Pavement in 2013.
