Nigel Morgan’s Six Concertos come from an on-going collection called Instrumentarium Novum, a title that brings together the application of instruments of different timbres, ranges and expressive qualities with what makes up contemporary performance techniques. The concertos celebrate a similarity of spirit and practice between instrumental music-making of the Baroque era and jazz and improvised music of today.
